When we raise a dog, we must realize that their lifespan is not as long as we would like. They share part of their lives with us, but they live with us for the rest of their lives, so we strive to give them the best life possible while they are with us. We are well aware of their merit in getting everything.
Zach Skow, co-founder of Marley's Mutts and Pawsitive Change Program, who discovered an elderly dog named Henry at a rescue facility in Tehachapi, California, has this opinion. The 16-year-old dog was not as agile or energetic as other dogs at the shelter, and he appeared tired and had coarse gray patches on his coat.
Zach was emotional and couldn't bear to think that the dog would have to spend the last years of his life in such a way. So in March, he eagerly agreed to be Henry's adoptive father. His goal is to make sure that Henry makes new friends and has fun experiences.
Due to his advanced age, Henry had some difficulty walking lightly at first, but unexpectedly the affectionate dog worked hard to gather energy from within, and soon people saw the dog running and running. around Zach's yard as if he were a puppy. His adoptive father found it hard to believe.
In addition to his age, Henry also has testicular cancer, which was discovered while he was in the shelter. Fortunately, he was able to recover with surgery. This puppy was desperately clinging to life.
According to Zach, Henry won't be with Zach for a long time. He thought the old dog had only a few months left in him. To Zach's surprise, the dog continued to outperform the odds and look younger over time.
Henry couldn't stay with Zach much longer, no matter how pleased he was with his development, so Zach set out to find him a home for life. After all, his main goal is to prolong the life of this adorable little pup.
Of course, Henry's enthusiasm and vitality make it easy to find a home despite his advanced age. His new mom loves him dearly, providing for him daily and even posting pictures of their adventures on Instagram.
Henry still has enough energy to take a stroll and enjoy the sun. He likes being outside, and he is aware of his family’s support and the size of his social media following.
All due to Zach, who spotted Henry at that shelter and felt he still deserved the best in life, Henry moved from being a neglected elderly dog in a shelter to becoming a cherished family pet.
